New York, 2009
The lure to just walk around with a small camera in hand is quite strong in me. I often wish I had a great project going on and a place to go photograph, but right now I'm too busy with the weddings and family photography, as well as taking care of my own family. So sometimes I just pick an area or street or neighborhood and just walk around taking a few pictures for a few hours.
I have been exploring some parts of Queens - here is a diptych of two scenes from Queens - on the left The Triboro bridge (now RFK bridge) seen from Astoria Park, and on the right, a view of a Con Ed plant from a park (I don't know the name) in the Queensbridge neighborhood, right in the shadow of the Queensboro/59th Street bridge.
I didn't shoot them to make a diptych, but they really seem to complement each other, with the bridge hidden behind the foliage and the plant towers peeking above the trees.
Enjoy.
